The rising star boasts impressive online following
Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile supporters as she begins her professional golf debut on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be the granddaughter of a former US president, received a tournament invitation to play at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns multiple international courses and frequently competes against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she mentioned.
Kai explained that her grandfather, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He essentially suggested to compete and enjoy myself," she added.
"To me, he's just a regular grandfather. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
Being non-professional, the golfer has participated in a mere three competitions in 2024 and has position 461 in AJGA standings.
However she's able to receive tips from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He stands as the best player in the world," Kai stated.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He advised me to play, have fun, adapting to the flow."
The golfer will compete against several the biggest names in professional golf at this tournament, including second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that her participation exposes the sport to different demographics, especially with the next generation.
The young star maintains a massive following and has started an exclusive clothing and lifestyle label.
Her first tee time at late afternoon GMT.
