The Opening Game Pass Games of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.

In numerous discussions, commentators persist in tolling the knell for the green team. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Platform-specific outlets have started writing on PS5 topics as a new development. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Xbox still intends to attract subscribers with compelling titles on its key platform.

The Current Inclusions

The two games that are immediately available as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's truly noteworthy.

Upcoming Headline Games

On Jan. 13, the platform will add the underappreciated Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that refreshes the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village featuring the towering Lady Dimitrescu, hailed in past assessments as "an ideal blend of terror and combat."

Intriguing Niche Additions

But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that's a blast to play, becomes available next week — and it's worth experiencing whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.

The game set in a ruined Britain from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the developers behind Sniper Elite, is another one to watch. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.

A Solid, Curated Lineup

All in all, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of older titles you may have skipped and new-ish games that failed to receive the spotlight they were due initially — which makes them perfect candidates to experience a revival on Game Pass.

Hope you're ready to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
